Sion Investments offloads entire stake in CMS Info Systems, ICICI Mutual Fund, Nomura picks up stake

CMS Info Systems' promoter Sion Investments sold its entire stake in the cash manegment company through open market transactions on February 27.

Sion Investments, an affiliate of Baring Private Equity Asia, sold 4,17,71,975 shares, which comes up to 26.68 percent stake in CMS Info Systems at an average price of Rs 370.38. The value of the deal is Rs 1,547.15 crore.

In June 2023, Sion Investment sold 13.8 percent stake for Rs 638 crore at an average price of Rs 300.23 a share. It sold another 19.4 percent stake for Rs 1,071 crore in October. In March 2023, the promoters held around 60 percent stake in the company.

Shares of CMS Info Systems drew huge buyer interest as Societe Generale, Morgan Stanley Asia Singapore PTE, Kotak Small Cap fund, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, IIFL Securities, Think India Opportunities Master Fund LP, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority-WAY, Nomura Funds Ireland Public Ltd CoIndia Equity Fund, AIG Global Investment Corporation, India Acorn ICAV, WF Asian Reconnaissance Fund and Mathew Cyriac of Florintree Advisors bought shares of the company.ICICI Prudential Mutual fund bought the most shares as they acquired 3.58 percent stake, or 5,61,0577 shares at an average price of Rs 370.05, buying Rs 207.61 crore worth of stake. Nomura and Kotak were the other prominent buyers as they bought stakes worth Rs 159.51 crore and Rs 134.17 crore, respectively.
