Paraguay's gross domestic product grew by 4.3 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2024, slowing from a 4.9 percent expansion in the previous period.

This growth was driven by increased output in agriculture (+0.4 percent vs -5.8 percent in Q4), while construction activity fell at a slower rate (-2.1 percent vs -8.5 percent).

Conversely, there was a slowdown in output growth for utilities (0.8 percent vs 8.3 percent), services (5 percent vs 5.2 percent), livestock, forestry, fishing, and mining (4.9 percent vs 13.8 percent), as well as manufacturing (5.5 percent vs 9.6 percent).
