Uruguay's current account deficit eased to USD 368 million in first quarter 2024, compared to an upwardly revised USD 634 million in the same period last year, due to an increase in the goods balance.

Figures showed that the goods and services surplus expanded to USD 1,178 million from USD 1,029 million.

Meanwhile, the primary income gap narrowed to USD 1,600 million from USD 1,713 million a year ago, while the secondary income surplus rose to USD 54 million from USD 50 million.
